Gallery Serpentine | Winterfest Sydney Medieval Fair | 4–5 July 2026
Hawkesbury Showground | 10am – 5pm both days
Winter is coming — and so are we.
Gallery Serpentine is returning to Winterfest Sydney Medieval Fair this July, and we're arriving with new designs, fresh corsetry, and finery made for exactly this kind of day. Find us with the Victorian & Steampunk contingent on the field, dressed for the era and ready for you.
Whether you've been shopping with us for years or you're discovering us for the first time between a joust and a falconry show — you'll find us exactly where you'd expect: somewhere beautiful, slightly theatrical, and unmistakably Gallery Serpentine.
The Team Behind the Stall
Running a market stall is a full-court endeavour, and ours doesn't happen without the people who show up, dress up, and give their whole weekend to making it magic.
From helping customers into their first corset, to dressing and prepping the stall at 6.30am in the morning, before the gates open to the crowds, — our crew make Winterfest what it is. We are deeply grateful for every single one of them.

New for 2026: Our Male Tailcoat Collection
Finery isn't just for one half of the wardrobe.
This year we're bringing our 'Modern Arcana' tailcoat and gentleman's jacket collection to Winterfest — historically-inspired, and very much wearable on a festival field, at a dinner table, or on a stage. These pieces are built for the person who wants to look genuinely extraordinary without the costume-shop compromise.

Think aristocratic tail coat cuts from a bygone era. Strong shoulder lines, dark red velvet or gilded brocade. These are not fancy dress — they are timeless garments.

What Happens at Winterfest
For the uninitiated: Winterfest Sydney Medieval Fair is two days of history, fantasy, spectacle, and genuinely good chaos at the Hawkesbury Showground. It's one of Sydney's most beloved outdoor events, and it earns that love every year.
The Joust
Feel the thunder of hooves and the splintering crash of lances on armour — the Winterfest Joust is the original Sport of Kings, performed by world-class jousters competing for glory in the Grandstand arena. It is every bit as thrilling as it sounds. This clip is from the recent Blacktown Medieval Fayre, Annette managed to escape the stall for a few minutes to capture the Joust - expect more excitement at Winterfest!
Birds of Prey
Falconry has been part of human culture since at least 2000 BC — and at Winterfest, you can experience it up close. The Birds of Prey free flight show traces the rich history of the art, and guests have the rare opportunity to hold a bird of prey themselves. It is genuinely one of those moments that stops you mid-sentence.
Australian Medieval Combat — The AMC NSW Cup
Over 50 armoured fighters compete in Historical Medieval Battle (HMB) across both days of the event. These are not re-enactors in soft gear — AMC fighters train seriously and compete internationally, including at the Battle of the Nations World Championships. The AMC Arena is the place to be if you want to witness something ancient done with absolute conviction.
Equestrian Skill-at-Arms
Watch riders wield swords and lances from the backs of fast-moving horses — from medieval knights to exotic warriors — striking targets at speed in the Joust List arena. It requires the kind of skill and nerve that makes everyone watching very grateful they are not on a horse.
And There's More
Winterfest is not a short afternoon. Across the two days you'll also find: medieval archery you can actually try, a medieval kitchen cooking show (Medieval Kitchen Rules), a medicine show that will make you very glad you live in the present century, Feldergast the Fool wandering the grounds causing mischief, Mermaids Cove, actual unicorns, carriage rides, a Kids' Corner, Knights School for young warriors, LARP on the field, the Dragon's Rest Tavern, and a full Merchants' Row and Artisan Alley to browse.
It is a lot. It is wonderful. Wear comfortable boots.
Did you know? This year, Winterfest is running its first-ever Winter's Feast Dinner — a special seated dinner event presented by the Dragon's Rest Tavern on the Friday evening (3 July, 6:30–9:30pm) before the fair officially opens. Tickets are separate and available at winterfest.com.au.
Getting there: Your Winterfest weekend ticket includes integrated travel on Sydney Trains, light rail and the Metro — no tap needed, just show your ticket at the gates. Clarendon railway station is a two-minute walk from the entrance. Parking is also available (pre-book when you buy tickets, or arrive on the day).
Our Corsets, Your Occasion
We make corsets for every body and every occasion — from the first-time wearer who's never been laced before, to the seasoned corset wearer who is ready for their next one! All budgets catered for, and expert fitting and advice is on hand.
At Winterfest you'll find new designs alongside our signature styles: underbust and overbust silhouettes, Victorian interpretations, both tight lacing and fashion friendly constructions, and everything in between. Our high quality Australian made Lilly corset in luscious black velvet is always a show favourite.
We will have corsets available to try on at the stall. Come with layers you can remove. We'll take care of the rest.
